MY GRANDMOTHER’S FAMOUS “CHRISTMAS CRACK”
Christmas Crack has been a staple in my family since before I was born. My grandmother would make it every year during Christmastime and coined it “crack” because it is just that addictive. Even after her passing in 2017, the tradition lives on through my mom—this dessert takes as much time to make as it takes to disappear at any holiday celebration. Everyone is going to want in on this delicious and crunchy treat!

1 sleeve of saltine or club crackers (enough to cover your pan)
1 cup brown sugar
1 cup (2 sticks) butter
1 bag (12 oz) chocolate chips
Let's Get Baking!
1️⃣ Preheat & Prep:
Heat your oven to 350°F.
Line a baking sheet with foil or parchment paper.
Place crackers on the sheet to cover the bottom entirely.
2️⃣ Make the Caramel Topping:
Melt butter in a saucepan over medium heat.
Stir in brown sugar until well blended.
3️⃣ Bake:
Pour the caramel mixture evenly over the crackers.
Pop it into the oven and bake for 10 minutes.
4️⃣ Add Chocolate:
Remove from the oven and immediately sprinkle the bag of chocolate chips on top.
Let the chocolate melt for a minute or two, then use a spatula to spread it evenly over the crackers.
Cool & Enjoy:
Let the cookies cool completely (you can refrigerate them to speed this up).
Break into pieces and serve!
🍫✨ For extra flair, sprinkle crushed Heath bars, M&Ms, nuts, or drizzle red and green chocolate on top before the chocolate sets.
Enjoy!
