Look no further and save things from the landfill while you learn how to create artistic masterpieces out of found objects. Students have the option to sign up for a single class or the three-part series. Time to put that old “One man’s trash is another man’s treasure” mantra into action, and get in the creative flow while doing it!
In this workshop series, you'll utilize basic skills like cutting, gluing, inking, and painting to breathe new creative life into old texts. From selecting the perfect book to sourcing materials and preparing pages, this series will guide you through everything you need to know to get started with book altering.
Materials are provided, and students are also encouraged to bring an old book of your own or any photos /memorabilia you may like to incorporate in your project.

The Strong Learner: Caregiver & Child Yoga Class
This free, introductory class is a great way for you and your child to learn the endless benefits of yoga for developing minds + bodies. Your child will build confidence + strength, while leaving each class feeling empowered to find their calm.
Music, fun props + guided “free play” delight and engage children throughout this 30 min class, including “partner poses” that are strengthening and soothing for both child and grownup partner!
Your child will learn the basics of breathing to calm big emotions and some of the foundational yoga poses like downward dog and tree.
The class will also provide an introduction to ABC Yoga Cards, a 26 card yoga deck designed to engage little learners’ minds + bodies to develop flexibility, balance, focus + confidence, all while building a solid foundation for literacy + learning. Uniquely suited for toddlers, preschoolers and early learners.

Holiday Hullabaloo with Caravan of Thieves
Caravan of Thieves Annual Holiday Hullaballo
Inspired by the big band swing era, Django Reinhardt and the Quintette du Hot Club de France, absurd and macabre musical theater and early American folk music, Caravan of Thieves took shape in the hearts and minds of Fuzz and Carrie, the dynamic singing, strumming and songwriting musical duo who formed the band in early 2008. They began by writing a handful of songs based on this concept and soon after, filled out their sound with upright bass, violin, and an occasional accordion and any other willing participant they could recruit along the way. Caravan of Thieves was born.
According to Fuzz and Carrie, “We’re driven to consistently entertain our audience, in concert and on our studio recordings, which lends to building a community of listeners who can be involved in our show and our creative process in some way, as well as a variety of artists who we can share our vision with. These elements allow our band and our music to be alive, have a soul.”

The Leevees Present a Hanukkah Party for All!
The Leevees Hanukkah Party for All
Adam Gardner (GUSTER) and Dave Schneider (THE ZAMBONIS) joined forces in 2005 and started a band called The LeeVees. They wrote four songs about Hanukkah and were quickly signed to a record deal. “Channukah Rocks” was released on Warner Bros/Reprise Records and so began the amazing journey of The LeeVees. Creator of NPR’s Tiny Desk Concert Bob Boilen declared the release as “the best holiday record of the decade without question”.
December 2023 was a career highlight. The LeeVees played the prestigious NPR TINY DESK CONCERT. Coming soon! December 2024 a one hour long PBS Hanukkah Special will feature interviews with Adam and Dave, exclusive live performances and features five LeeVees tunes.
The band has toured extensively with The Barenaked Ladies, Matisyahu and Guster. They performed with The Boston Pops at Symphony Hall as well as doing plenty of tours of their own. Several LeeVees songs have been featured on “Grey’s Anatomy” and on Family Guy offshoot “The Cleveland Show”.
Santa Visits Fairfield
Santa Claus will arrive by hook-and-ladder down Reef Road at 10:00am. He will sit in the beautifully decorated gazebo on Sherman Green until approximately 2:00PM, as he listens to the wide-eyed holiday wishes of all the children who visit him. Santa’s elves will give each child an adorable, small plush holiday toy, sponsored by Massage Envy.

Young Americans too often come back from foreign wars with life-changing wounds. As we carry on with our lives, they struggle for the rest of theirs. To help ease that struggle, the Fairfield Ludlowe High School boys & girls lacrosse programs are hosting the 18th Annual Sticks for Soldiers™ Thanksgiving Lacrosse Classic on Saturday November 30, 2024.
