Make It Singular
The first time I met Tainara was at a networking event. Tainara was wearing a radiant emerald dress, her smile lighting up the room. A bright neon sign at the top of her booth read “Singular”, and as I approached her, I could clearly see why. I had never seen such gorgeous pieces! The luxurious and unique handbags, the stunning jewelry, and the statement shoes! A vibrant coral clutch immediately caught my eye—smooth as silk, with delicate, wide scales lining the outside, and a gold-plated chain link strap. Next to it, is a multi-stringed jade green necklace with gold detailing and a cuff to match. I was hooked, and I knew there was a story to tell.

Tainara Cruvinel, a Brazilian native, found her way to the United States back in 2014 with her husband. Back in Brazil, she had built a solid career in finance, but by 2016, she set her sights on a new goal—earning an MBA to pivot into her lifelong dream of working in fashion. However, life had other beautiful plans for Tainara. Just a few months into her MBA program, she welcomed her first child, and shortly after graduating, her second was born. Though her transition to the fashion world was momentarily put on hold, the dream remained alive and steadfast, waiting for the perfect moment to take flight.
“I’m absolutely passionate about my shoes! This whole journey began because I was fed up with having to choose between beauty and comfort. Nothing I found in the U.S. could strike that perfect balance, and I deeply missed the artistry and soul of Brazilian design.”

She wasn’t alone. Tainara swiftly realized that women around her felt the same way and were seeking a style that didn’t sacrifice comfort. Singular was born — a brand that brings exceptional Brazilian design to women in the States. Tainara made a bold move and reached out to her favorite designers, starting with friend Lisa Perea, co-founder of Luiza Perea, a brand known for combining comfort and sophistication into one piece. She leaned into Lisa to understand her approach to business and product development, absolutely falling in love with the craftsmanship, intricate design, and unified talent of both designer and artisan who work hand in hand to create these precious items.
“I handpick handmade accessories that combine timeless design, strong aesthetics, and authenticity. Each piece is chosen for its quality, uniqueness, and functionality, empowering women to be confident, bold, and unapologetically themselves.”
It was also crucial for Singular to reflect Tainara’s values, so she made it part of her mission to work exclusively with women-owned, socially responsible brands from her homeland, thus creating original designs while upholding high-quality standards and ethical practices. The women she works with are incredible powerhouses who have built successful businesses, and she’s proud and honored to help expand their audience.
As her research grew, so did her product line. She fell in love with Pirarucu skin. Pirarucu is a giant Amazonian fish that provides a surprisingly soft and resilient material. Developed in Brazil, the unique tanning process is 100% organic and free of heavy metals, resulting in vivid colors, greater resistance, and unparalleled smoothness. Her designers are then able to explore the unique texture of Pirarucu, creating handbags that embody the Singular Soul: handmade, timeless designs with exceptional quality and function.
Lastly, but certainly not least, the jewelry. Boldness has always been the trademark of visual artist and designer Camila Klein. Her original creations are made entirely by hand, one by one, with a special curation of natural stones, crystals, pearls and resins. The brand has become a staple in Brazil, and Tainara knew she had to curate its pieces. What makes Camila’s jewelry even more desirable is the fact that she preserves the exclusivity of her pieces by creating entirely original and limited micro collections every 2 weeks or so which makes them highly coveted, rare, and valuable. Once the pieces are sold-out they will never be made again.
