Top 10 Thanksgiving MovieS/SHOWS

This year I'm especially excited for Thanksgiving.  The last 4 years have been super hard, and when things tend to get difficult in life, we wind up thinking in I’s. I don’t like speaking or thinking like that. It’s the opposite of who I am as a person. But it happened and here I am. Anyway, I have decided to stop being a victim to my life's circumstances and get after it. I’m tired of being angry, sad and in despair all the time. So, this Thanksgiving, I am going to stop worrying and instead enjoy the long weekend with my family.  Part of that enjoyment is going to be eating a lot of food and watching movies. So I figured I would share some Thanksgiving favorites for you all to enjoy as well! Wishing you Happy Thanksgiving! #staygrateful

1. Planes, Trains and Automobiles (1987)

Why Watch: A classic Thanksgiving comedy with Steve Martin and John Candy. It’s  about two incompatible guys trying to get home for the holiday. Hilarious and heartwarming, this film has become a Thanksgiving staple.

2. A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving (1973)

Why Watch: This is a classic and will get you nostalgic. Also who doesn't love Snoopy and the gang!

3. Scent of a Woman (1992)

Why Watch: While not strictly a Thanksgiving movie, over the years when we would spend it with Paola’s aunt, we would watch it! Al Pacino and Gabrielle Anwar put on a great performance. “If you get all tangled up, just tango on!”. Loving that message these days.

4. Home For the Holidays (1995)

Why Watch: My So Called Life meets Thanksgiving. What’s not to love!

5. While You Were Sleeping (1995)

Why Watch: “These mashed potatoes are so creamy… Mary mashed them.” #IYKYK

6. New Girls Season 1, episode 6 (2011)

Why Watch: Fairfield’s very own Justin Long and the awesome Zooey Deschanel for some good ole slap stick comedy.

7. Friends Season 3 episode 9 (1996)

Why Watch: The Infamous football game fam!

8. Martha and Snoops Potluck Dinner Party Season 1 Episode 3 (2016)

Why Watch: Snoop and Martha stirring up trouble for Thanksgiving! So much fun!

9. You’ve Got Mail (1998)

Why Watch: “I wanted it to be you” Such a classic and one of Paola's favorites!

10. Miracle on 34th Street (1947)

Why Watch: Chris would watch this with his Mom and Grandma as a kid. Super nostalgic! Plus one of the best quotes ever "Faith is believing in things when common sense tells you not to".
