For Moms Who’ve Experienced a Bit of a Sh*t Show at Home and Want to Create Peace + Calm Instead

My hand is raised. This was me for years. Wanting peace + calm, but not sure how to create it. Especially with, what felt like, uncooperative family members.

You might know what it’s like to want the best for your family, but no one is willing to listen to you.  Instead, there’s disharmony in your home, with arguing and yelling.

You sense your ideas would be a great way to start helping your kids or your relationship with your partner.  But, no one is willing to listen or have a go at it.

Instead, arguing is the flavor of the day.  And, you’re left worried- wondering if you’ll ever all get along and, if things will get better for your kids.

If you’ve experienced this too, (because this is a page from my life’s playbook), then listen in—It Can Get Better.

And It Will Get Better.

But first, I suggest you do 2 things I’ve found hugely helpful:

1)  This is counterintuitive but- Let Go

Don’t try to make your husband or kids do what you think they need to do.  Give them lots of space to do things they prefer, in ways they prefer to do them.  There’s  a lot to cover on this topic, but for the sake of this short article, the idea is to allow the people you love more freedom to do what they love.  When they do, they most often feel happier + more upbeat, and a house full of upbeat people, leads to a family that gets along better!

2)  Eat foods that promote feeling more relaxed

There are heaps of foods that can help you improve your emotions.  For simplicity sake, we’ll talk about one- Bananas.

Bananas are excellent for helping you feel more relaxed. I’m aware, bananas and most fruit, have gotten a bad rap for their sugar content.   That’s not necessary, as the sugar in fruit creates a glucose that’s utilized by your brain to help you regulate your emotions.  Without this fruit sugar, you may find yourself feeling stressed more easily.

Eating 3 bananas a day can help reduce PTSD.*  Try regularly eating 1-2 a day, to take the edge off of your anxiousness.

Suggestion:

Make a smoothie and add 1-2 bananas to it, along with your other preferred ingredients.

Or make banana “ice cream” and eat it regularly!  (See recipe.)

Good luck and enjoy!

Here’s to you and your family feeling good + all getting along!
