The Secret to Staying Lovers

Here is the secret sauce to staying lovers and not becoming just roommates. Can you guess?

If you said COMMUNICATION and INTENTIONAL CONNECTION, you are correct! But, we are not just talking about what has to get done around the house, what the kids did today or spending the evening watching Netflix while you both scroll on your phones. Intentional communication and connection is designed to deepen your emotional and intellectual attachment to one another.

How do you do it? Take 10 mins at the beginning or end of your day and ask each other a question that is out of the daily norm and use that as a springboard to explore one another thoughts and feelings. For example, you might ask "what is one thing you want me to know but never told me?"; "What is your fondest childhood memory?", or "Besides your family, what are you most grateful for?".

Be purposeful with your time. What do your Date Nights look like? Dinner and a movie? Or no Date Nights at all? Time for something new. What is something you enjoyed doing together when you first started dating? Go do it!
