Easy Valentines Day Beauty

I love a monochromatic makeup look, especially for Valentine’s Day. It’s super flattering and simple to create, and works perfectly with Valentine’s iconic color – pink! All you really need for your eyeshadow, blush and lip color is one versatile product that can be used for all three areas and it really gives the face the most gorgeous, cohesive look. I prefer a cream or liquid product as it’s more comfortable to wear on the lips than powder, and in the cold winter months, they can blend and wear more evenly over skin that tends to be on the drier side.  However, you could also use a powder, a stain, etc. There really are no rules!

Once you’ve applied your base products (foundation, concealer, bronzer), you could take a multipurpose product like NARS Cosmetics Multiple Stick in Orgasm or Glossier Cloud Paint in Puff, which is already designed to be used all over the face, or if you’d like, one that wasn’t specifically designed for that – such as your favorite pink lipstick. If you’re using your favorite lipstick, here’s how I recommend applying:

  1. Cheeks: Rub a tiny amount of product from the lipstick bullet onto your finger (I tend to use my middle finger for this) and lightly tap onto the apples of your cheek, or onto your cheekbones if you prefer a more sculpted look. Once it’s in the right area, use your fingers to blend into the skin for a natural flush.

  2. Eyes: Rub even less product from the lipstick bullet onto your finger (I would still use my middle finger for this), and apply to your eyelids, blending from the lash line into the crease and slightly above.

  3. Lips: And finally, apply your lipstick as you normally would onto your lips.

For any areas where you feel the application is too heavy, apply a tiny bit of foundation to sheer out the color as needed. Then, finish off with your highlighter, eyeliner, mascara, brow product, etc.!
