Questions and Glam-swers: Summer Beauty Routine
Question:
“Should I change up my makeup routine for summer? If so, how?”
Glam-swer:
The change of seasons ushers in a new skincare and makeup routine for many, because sunkissed summer skin has very different needs than in colder, drier seasons. Summertime is all about enjoying that carefree feeling of lightweight, breezy clothing, and the same goes for makeup. Easy to use, multi-tasking products are the star of the season, and I’ve listed a couple of my top picks below.
Complexion:
The It Cosmetics CC Cream with SPF 50+ is essentially a sunscreen, foundation, concealer and highlighter all-in-one, with many other benefits:
Offers higher level of sun protection than many other foundations on the market
Easy to find your color match because while there aren’t many shades in the line, each shade can be used on a range of skintones
A lovely cross between a liquid and a mousse which makes it extremely easy to apply. (I like to use my fingers to apply and blend.)
Feels super lightweight but is pigmented enough that it achieves the elusive combination of both evening your skin tone as a foundation does, while also concealing imperfections as a concealer does
Creates a gorgeous radiance on the skin – so much so that you can forgo highlighter
Incredibly long-wearing formula to stand up to the summer heat
Eyes, Cheeks, Lips:
I love a product that I can use on my eyes, cheeks and lips for an easy and flattering monochromatic look, and one of my favorites is Honest Beauty Creme Cheek + Lip:
Universally flattering shades, creating what looks like a natural radiance from within for all skin tones
Formulated with multi-fruit extract for a smooth application and silky feeling
Creamy texture makes it easy to apply and blend, even for makeup novices
